  • Do CarinaPoint devices use 2-way communication?
  • Yes, all CarinaPoint™ devices utilize 2-way communication and validation of functions via a variety of wireless and wired communication platforms.
  • Can you do a scheduled and on-demand meter read?
  • Yes.
  • Can you read commercial meters?
  • Yes.
  • Can you shed load?
  • Yes.
  • Can you measure the current?

  • Does the unit report outages, blinks, and power restoration?

  • L&G direct meter interface (voltage and current), GE direct meter interface(current only), Itron via meter interface cable.
  • Can you generate MAIFI reports on blinks with time-tags?
  • Yes, with information provided from the utility with respect to upstream device, downstream device, number of customers and phase.
  • Is the remote disconnect out of the box ready?
  • Yes, the device is equipped with complete remote disconnect/reconnect funcitonality it can be installed in any 200 amp service and is fully operational within a matter of minutes.
  • Do you have a commercial (3 phase) disconnect?
  • Currently, our unit is limited to the disconnection of 200 Amp single phase meters. However, we are planning to develop a 320 Amp disconnect product for large single phase services.
  • Is there a homeowner reset button on the device? If not, is that an option that can be added?
  • Yes, there is an arming button option that requires the customer to perform the closing of the switch to energize the home.
  • How fast does the unit report blinks?
  • Events are tracked over a 90 sec period and then reported to CarinaXchange.
  • Do you have to poll the unit for outages?
  • No, units are designed to self-initiate an outage report of either the utility or the customer. If utility power is lost, the unit will automatically report it to the utility and then enter "sleep mode" to preserve battery life.
  • Will it report outages to my outage management system?
  • Yes, we have substantial background in developing and implementing interfaces to more than 50 different off-the-shelf software systems.
  • Is this device tested and certified?
  • Yes, our device has gone through extensive testing including UL compliance, FCC Part 15, & environmental testing. More thorough testing is planned to become compliant with European IEC standards.
  • What is the warranty?
  • We provide a 10 year warranty for normal wear and tear.
