HUNTSVILLE, AL – February 9, 2010– Carina Technology (Carina), a leading provider of true IP-enabled Smart Grid solutions, announced today that Jay W. Newkirk has stepped down as President and CEO, and that William L. Schrader, a widely-known veteran of the commercial internet and services industry, has been named his successor. In addition, Elyzabeth J. Holford, a seasoned strategist and operations executive has been named chief operating officer. Newkirk will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board while pursuing a closely related venture in the government sector.
