CarinaPoint™ Wi-Fi Overview
CarinaPoint™ Wi-Fi Solution is an information system interface device that resides in a collar base betw4een the residential electric socket and the electric meter. This collar-based customer interface provides the utility with a variety of applications that not only improve service, but also reduce cost. In addition to traditional metering applications, our device creates a SCADA system from the customer’s home back to the utility.
The CarinaPoint™ Wi-Fi Solution incorporates either a Wi-Fi radio chipset or cable modem to facilitate the backhaul communications required for high volume data exchange. At the home, the CarinaPoint™ Wi-Fi Solution provides the IP gateway which enables access to the electric meter, remote meter disconnect and reconnect, FlexPay™, Demand Side Management via thermostat control, water heater and pool pump management, and a variety of other home automation applications.
