CarinaXchange™

Our CarinaXchange™ Operations Data Center user interface is used to access monitoring and remote control features for Carina's product lines. CarinaXchange™ is a multi-user, multi-service, integrated, web-based management system.

CarinaXchange™ provides the user with the tools for ”on-demand device operation” (individual and batch), scheduled and on-demand monitoring (meter reads), immediate device operation notification, pre-determined and ad-hoc reporting capabilities, along with a full range of customization tools for data customization, 3rd party data integration and user level permissions.

Web Interface Security Features

• Verisign 128 bit SSL transaction security or all customer access.
• Supports multiple unique user login ID and password authentication for the customer to implement solid access control and authentication policy
• Supports group access privileges, which allow a customer to setup different levels of data access and control privileges; view-only, view-update, administrator.
• Supports optional RSA smartcard access control for customers who desire PKI authentication access control. Custom authentication schemes can be designed and implemented for a customer’s requirements by Carina Engineering Services.

Carina Network Operations Center

CTI's Network Operations Center (NOC) is connected directly to our partner's network switching center over a dedicated, secure frame relay connection. The NOC is located in a secure co-location facility. CTI's application servers, gateways, and database servers are located at this NOC in a secure area, behind a secure firewall. Application logic within the NOC manages communications with devices and routes data to the customer’s application through CarinaXchange™ interfaces into the customer’s existing software applications (SCADA, OMS, Customer Information, etc.), and/or into the CarinaXchange™ web-based management application.

Reliability features at the NOC

• Redundant hot-swappable application servers (Web)
• Redundant database servers (On-site, cold swappable)
• All servers include RAID drives and redundant power supplies (Web/Database/SomeXchange Servers)
• Load balancer (Foundry Networks)
• On-site backup swappable firewall
• External watchdog applications monitor all critical processes at the NOC
• 24 x 7 system status alarm monitoring and personnel on call

Security features at the NOC

• Communications between our Aggregation Partner's switch and the NOC are authenticated and encrypted over a dedicated frame relay circuit from the Aggregation Partner to CTI.
• The NOC coordinates authentication of the communication with each RTU, validating ESN and MIN for each unit. All communications are acknowledged so that the successful communication is confirmed.
• The NOC is secured behind a secure firewall, with a swappable redundant firewall on-site in the event of a firewall failure.
