Data Delivery Mechanisms
Data delivery mechanisms include, but are not limited to batch communication, request/response communication and direct connect.
Batch Communication
CarinaXchange™ has the ability to send and receive data periodically based on pre-determined criterion. This mode can be used for both initial ‘data dump’ to initially provide data to Carina/vendor or periodically to provide updates of the data.
Request/Response Communication
CarinaXchange™ has the ability to provide real-time data via Request/Response communication. Request/response messaging can be used to request information on a specific data item and is typically used in lieu of maintaining a separate copy of the subject data. The preferred methodology for this is Web Services.
Direct Connect
CarinaXchange™ has the ability in many instances to directly connect to the vendor’s data and extract/provide information. This requires the cooperation of the vendor, customer along with the technological tools to do so.
