Carina Technology, Inc. (CTI) provides CarinaXchange™, a feature-rich secure web-based application, for management of its devices and creation of event/alarm based logic and notifications. Customers who choose not to integrate their existing SCADA, OMS or other, solutions, or customers without a SCADA, OMS or other solution can use CarinaXchange to manage their system.

Customers that integrate typically limit access of the database system to control engineers and/or supervisors responsible for managing IT functions.  Call center operators and customer service representatives within the utility typically interact with CarinaXchange™ via their existing SCADA, OMS or other applications.

CarinaXchange™ has authentication and security features designed to allow the customer to effectively manage their application in a secure manner. However, these features are only the base for a customer to implement good access control and user authentication security policy – two of the most critical issues to a strong security policy.

Security features of CarinaXchange™ include:

• Verisign 128 bit SSL transaction security
• Supports multiple unique user login ID and password authentication which enables solid access control and authentication policy
• Supports group access privileges, which allows a customer to setup various levels of data access and control; view-only, view-update, administrator
• Supports optional RSA smartcard access control for customers who desire PKI authentication access control. Custom authentication schemes can be designed and implemented for a customer’s requirements by Carina Engineering Services.
